Honoring Our Past…Celebrating Our Future

Welcome to Sts. Peter and Paul Parish as we honor our past and celebrate our future.  The dedication of our new addition is another milestone in our 160-year history of faith and service to God and others.  I have said many times, this isn’t just about a building, it’s about the people who will come through its doors who will be brought closer to God and their neighbor.

The dreams and visions for this facility began more than 15 year ago.  Faith, prayers, hard work and the generosity of many have allowed us to reach our goal of becoming a more welcoming and hospitable parish – a Spiritual Home for Everyone.

There are many people to thank for getting us to this day.  The Master Plan Committee worked for over a decade to plan, design and make the project a reality.  That included much re-planning and re-designing as economic and other variables changed what God was leading us to build.  Representatives from the Diocese guided us at many points along the way.  We had three capital campaigns that had scores of volunteers doing the tasks that helped us achieve the financial resources we needed.  Finally, there are those who participated in any way in the campaigns and gave their time, talent and treasures to build this addition.  You are all a partner in building God’s Kingdom.

God has given us this building and we plan to make it a means for our parish to achieve its mission of being disciples, growing disciples and making disciples.

For 160 years, our church has been ministering to the needs of the Collinsville community.  We will continue that tradition in a true spirit of discipleship built on a foundation of prayer, hospitality and generous giving and serving.

It is with gratitude to God who has led us to this day and to all who have played a role in our past and present success that we joyfully celebrate this milestone.

Peace,

Father John
