Pastoral Care

The Office of Pastoral Care is designed to meet the needs of our parishioners who are dealing with life issues, especially if they don’t know where else to turn.  Pastoral Care offers professional Christian guidance and counseling services to assist people in overcoming life’s trials and obstacles and help in achieving relief, healing and personal growth.  Pastoral Care includes a number of ministries:

Communion for Homebound/Long-Term Care

One of the most rewarding ministries of the parish is that of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who provide the Eucharist to the homebound and those who are in long-term care facilities and assisted living.  Volunteers are needed.  Contact:  Jackie Slovinski–910-7299

Hospital Ministry

Parishioners visit Anderson Hospital patients every Monday and Tuesday bringing the Eucharist to them, praying with them, and providing access to other spiritual resources.  Contact: Roseann Jokerst–344-6022

Ministry of Consolation

The mission of the Ministry of Consolation provides assistance to those who are grieving by offering help before, during and after the funeral services.  Volunteers are needed.

Grief Sharing Support Group

This group gathers to provide care and support to the bereaved and to give hope. The group meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday in the church basement at 10 am.  Anyone experiencing any type of loss may attend.  Contact: Maggie Brennan–345-4343 Ext. 111 or 345-1623 or or

Health Ministry

This ministry does blood pressure checks the first weekend of every month after masses.  It is also responsible for education and new health updates.  Contact: Diane Hill – 344-7985 or

In-Touch Ministry

This is a phone ministry to keep in touch with all of our parishioners. Our mission is to touch base with you to say hello, assess your needs, and offer assistance if needed.  It is not a financial request. Contact: Herman Wenos–344-4108 or

Welcome New Parishioners

This ministry welcomes new parishioners to our parish.  First welcome is from Father John then an invitation to attend a gathering and meal with Father John, deacons and other parishioners.  The gatherings are scheduled twice a year.  Contact: Maggie Brennan–345-4343 Ext. 111 or Marty Wiegers at

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Counseling

Talk to a trained professional for assistance with any type of problem or crisis such as:

  • Emotional issues
  • Grief-related issues
  • Marriage and family issues
  • Personal budge/financial issues
