Sunday, June 25 Dedication Mass, Ribbon Cutting, Blessing, Reception and Tours

Bishop Thomas John Paprocki was the main celebrant at 10:30, which was made very special by the uplifting music provided by our combined adult and children’s choir, directed by Judy Thompson and Debbie Popovchak-Erickson.

Following Mass, the Bishop led the procession to the new front entrance.  Father John welcomed the large crowd, followed by remarks by Master Plan Committee Chairman Dennis Bouse and Collinsville City Manager Mitch Bair.  There was also a special presentation from the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce. This was followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony.  New Catholics Jim and Janet Fuhrman held the ribbon which was cut by Bishop Paprocki, Father John, Dennis and Mitch.

The building blessing rites followed, leading to the Bishop blessing the doors and the interior of the addition.  Finally the doors were opened for all to enter the gathering space!

The reception in the fellowship hall was hosted by our Hospitality Committee, and more than 250 guests enjoy a variety of gourmet foods at various stations.

There were also tours featuring the church windows and statues and the new office space.
