Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion share in the ministerial role of “offering” communion to the faithful so they may make their act of faith. Ministers offer the Holy Body of Christ or the Precious Blood of Christ to the faithful when they come to the front for reception of the Eucharist. They also “do the dishes” after mass so that the vessels are clean and ready for the next mass.

Training is required, as is blessing from the Bishop. Our Diocese also requires all volunteers to undergo training in abuse and background checks.
