Parishioner Amber Robinson takes next step in life of faith
Hello! My name is Amber Robinson. I have been discerning religious life for several years now. It all started when I met a Sister while I was in grade school. I saw her pure joy and wanted to be just like that when I grew up. I didn’t know at this young age what that meant. I thought that many people didn’t become Sisters anymore, so I didn’t think about it again seriously until college. While I went to Marquette Catholic High School in Alton there was several sisters that taught at our school and I would have thoughts about becoming a Sister. But again, I pushed them down and ignored it.
I started to grow a lot in my faith while in college and started to wonder if I could actually be a Sister. I started to really discern it and remembered that Sister I had met in grade school and looked up their community. I went on a discernment retreat and fell in love with the community. That community is The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George. After I visited the community, I went on to visit other communities but never had the same sense of home. Last December I asked the Mother Superior for an application to enter and I have been officially accepted to enter this fall!
I have some student loans that stand in the way of my entrance this fall because we have to be debt free to enter. I would appreciate any support right now as I prepare for entrance. If you would like to support me financially check out my Go Fund Me Page, or you can contact me at 618-334-7646.
I am praying for all the parishioners of Ss. Peter & Paul and am so thankful for all of your support! God bless!
